Spinosaurus wins this with ease. It had all the advantages apart from speed and agility.

Spino. Besides, we don't even know exactly what Deinocheirus looked like or how big it was!

Spino. Besides, we don't even know exactly what Deinocheirus looked like or how big it was! We have a pretty good estimate on how big it was. Someone called brolyephusion from deviant art, youtube and carnivora scaled deinocheirus's humerus based on struthomimus's proportions. He scaled struthomimus's humerus to ~93.8 centimeters which is Deinocheirus's size which gave him a 12.4 metre and ~5 ton deinocheirus.

The Sailback Giant Spinosaurid vs. The Sailback Giant Ornithomimosaur. Both got tall vertebral spines, both got huge claws, both are monstrous in size, both evolved away from the typical theropod diets, both lived in lush, wet habitats, both were originally very fragmentary, and both were shown to be larger than previous work had suggested. All I can say about a battle between these two would be awesome, though personally, I'm leaning in the direction of Deinocheirus for the simple fact that it's got a huge height advantage and it's claws were more accessible for use. Moreover, herbs rock and win 9/10 times against predators anyway.

That seems way too little for both, and it should be remembered that the new Deinocheirus specimen is a lot larger than the holotype, which now seems to represent a subadult. Moreover, according to Holtz the new specimen is a good bit taller than Therizinosaurus: I'm not sure how this would translate into weight, but I do know that it would still probably be an intimidating opponent.

Those are hypothetical debates, where we debate aout who kills who, but overall you are right about the taller one intimidating the opponent. Also, that's in kilograms, because 1000kg=1ton, making Deinocheirus 5 tonnes and Spinosaurus, 13. Read Sporerex's post, Deinocheirus was ~5 tonnes. This is still a massive size advantage for Spinosaurus because it was much heavier, making it a much bigger animal. In real life, Deinocheirus would probably intimidate Spinosaurus.

I would usually lean towards the herbivore in most predator VS prey situations, but this is a huge mismatch in favour of Spinosaurus.

Eh, after that I gotta agree with you guys. Spino has the advantage in this confrontation, and Deinocheirus would've lacked the limb adaptations to run away from the big predator. Spino would probably have the advantage, unless maybe it's a nasty Deinocheirus with some attitude on it, or a mom with babies... Hmmm... Wait, that just made me wonder. How did Deinocheirus lay eggs and raise the kids? Do we have any evidence of brooding in Ornithomimids? I assume that they did, but we know that Deinocheirus was mimicking the body style of mound-building and non-brooding therizinosaurs. But at the same time we know that Gigantoraptor and its kin brooded. 8-| I gotta go and brainstorm now...

You kinda missed what he said, the new specimen is said to be far larger than the holotype deinocheirus. But I still stand by Spinosaurus in this fight, its weaponry is far superior than the claws and arms of deinocheirus. "G.S. Paul disagreed, suggesting that the claws are too blunt for killing but would have been good defensive weapons. The Russian paleontologist Rozhdestvensky compared the forelimbs of Deinocheirus to sloths."
Also Therizinosaurus isn't that tall compared to spinosaurus. Therizinosaurus's head is 5.2 metres in that comparison when Spinosaurus's head height is 4.5 metres. Also thats the neck Therizinosaurus's shoulder is 3.5 metres tall. So I doubt Deinocheirus would win alot of the time.
