Hainosaurus is now congeneric with Tylosaurus. I guess that means that it's Tylosaurus bernardi now.

Then the outcome wouldn't be so clear cut and would be up for debate.

He just says those things quite randomly... lol
As for the Orca vs GWS parity thing, don't want to go off-topic, but I'd favour the shark there.

It should be worth noting that even though they are around similar lengths, (megalodon was around 12-14 metres, livyatan was 13 metres, on average.) the shark was much, much heavier, about 15 tons to be exact.

If anything irritates me it is the thought that C. megalodon is this unstoppable creature that couldn't die from anything; it's WAY worse than even T. rex fandom at this point (I want to be honest and say that a certain member of this community has made me despise C. megalodon... or rather it's "fandom"... even more, some of you might know who I am referring to, I'll go right ahead and say I don't particularly like the guy). From that basis alone I am almost tempted to vote Livyatan. But if I'm honest C. megalodon probably has this most of the time. It's simply heavier and stronger and probably more maneuverable.
Though I've kind of thought about what would happen if these creatures actually met out in the wild naturally. I don't know if Livyatan hunted in groups or not, but if it did the shark stands no chance. If we look at sharks and orcas in modern day, they don't really compete that often, or at least from my understanding. But when they do compete, the orcas win consistently, albeit they are much larger and are in pods. I'm pretty sure confrontations between the two are pretty uncommon anyway.
I also want to comment on the orca vs great white at size parity; I honestly have no clue. I don't think size has as much to do with orca's success, though maybe it does. The intelligence of the orcas working in groups is a huge advantage, that would probably be the decider. One on one, the shark wins, a pod of orcas (how they normally behave, and would be in this confrontation unless it was forced) the orca wins.
Damn I ramble way too much.

Monolophosaurus' vent inspired me to get something semi-related to this thread off my chest too. You want to know what grinds my gears? Whenever people go on about how the extant orca is da best animull evur or "the ultimate predator" or other crap like that. Orcas are not some invincible ocean force because they possess high intelligence, well-coordinated gregarious hunting behavior, speed*, agility, or whatever (I mean, it's not like orcas are the only predators with these attributes, even if other predators are probably not as intelligent as they are). These characteristics make them formidable predators of whatever it is they prey on, but they don't make them inherently "superior predators" to other marine predators like sharks, pliosaurs, mosasaurs, etc. None of these predators need(ed) exceptional intelligence or coordinated pack hunting in the ecosystem they evolved in, so why does it matter if the orca has them? A predator is only as "ultimate" as the ecological pressures exerted on it force it to be. And in regards to the context of AVA debates, no, their intelligence and/or coordinated gregarious behavior doesn't allow them to be Megalodon slayers or win one on one against similar-sized macropredators 90 fucking percent of the time**. I'll say right now that "Orca wins 9/10 because it's far more intelligent" sounds no better than " T. rex wins 8 or 9/10 because of its stronger bite". There's far more to a fight between two animals than just that. *A kind fellow I know on another forum (I'm sure some of you here know it) gave me the PDF of a paper regarding delphinid speed, including O. orca. Aside from the mention of a shipboard observation estimating orca speed at ~12.5-15.4 m/s ( not counting potential bow-riding or the high error of margin that comes with this method of estimation), the maximum speed the paper reported for O. orca was ~7.91 m/s. Link. **Yes, I have heard crap more or less along these lines before.
