Just thought I would make a thread for the discussion of the strength of dinosaurs.

Scott Hartman's reconstruction of Alamosaurus sanjuanensis and the comparison made by him gives the sauropod a forelimb radius of ~33cm, and a radius of ~5.5cm to the human in the comparison, this equates to a cross section area for the forelimb of ~3,421cm for the sauropod and ~95cm for the human.
3,421/95 = 36
Which shows the sauropod to have a forelimb roughly 36 times stronger than an adult human.

I believe most of the dinosaurs strength doesnt come from its arms but its body and bite pressure well atleast for theropods. It has been said that a trex had a bite pressure 10 times stronger than a standard crocodile which has a bite pressure of up to 3000 psi. The trex body strength can be determined by its momentum of weightxspeed. A trex weighs 16000 pounds and can run up to 25 mph supposedly. So if my math is correct the most it could move is 400,000 pounds or 200 tons. Enough to move a blue whale at its strongest if it gets a running start.

that's actually a false statement. the strength of the arms depend on the theropod and the physiology. the best estimate for tyrannosaurus bite force is around 6 tons, which is roughly 3.24 times that of a 17 ft saltwater crocodile who produces a bite force of around 3500 pounds. and your equation is neglected by the square cubic law. small animals are generally stronger then larger ones. the amount of muscle mass required is transferred to the counteraction of a greater weight. that equation would be more applicant to an organism of much smaller size such as a human. much less a tyrannosaurs because much of its muscle composition is required to withstand its own 7- 8 ton weight. a tyrannosaurus being able to move 200 tons at top speed is highly unlikely.

Momentum actually shows how likely a body is to stop, acceleration would work best for your calculation.
