The Gaboon Viper has a size advantage over the badger and have pretty impressive fangs not to mention an incredibly fast strike. The snake killer is killed by a snake.

The Gaboon Viper has a size advantage An empty stomach Gaboon Viper weighs ~8.5kg. (Mallow D, Ludwig D, Nilson G. 2003. True Vipers: Natural History and Toxinology of Old World Vipers. Malabar, Florida: Krieger Publishing Company. 359 pp.). Male Honey Badgers weigh 9-16kg (Heptner & Sludskii 2002, pp. 1216–1217).

Gaboon vipers usually weigh between 7-11kg on average with the largest being about 20kg so it is possible for the snake to have a size advantage over the badger

Badger kills the snake. I see no way a snake far more accustomed to ambushing prey items would have any major chance of killing a badger

The viper may be a faster striker with a set of fangs but the honet badger has limbs with claws and bone crushing teeth to use to its advantage. Plus when a snake defends itself it stays stationary. The badger will move around and soon kill the snake whether it gets bit or not.

The honey badger kills the viper first, so I'm inclined to favour the badger.
