Sauropods usually are said to have very strong tails, and being good whippers. I guess a debate on sauropod tails is actually pretty cool. I have been talking to Scott Hartman on DeviantART about sauropod tails, and got some nice answers, such as the possible effects of a large sauropod's tail whip being used on a man.

Yes, but depending on what sauropod we're talking about. Diplodocoids could have used their tails in combat, but not to whip. The whip-like part of the tail is lighter, meaning a collision with a body will produce less kinetic energy. I would say the bulkier part of the tail would be ued more oftenly in combat terms.
