Ceratosaurus dentisulcatus is larger than a Gaur, although a bull of the same size has been recorded. However at maximum normal sizes, Ceratosaurus is larger. Ceratosaurus' teeth were designed for cutting/slicing, although they may cause damage to bone in certain occasions. C. dentisulcatus is around as tall as a human at the top of the head, while a Gaur can be, at maximum sizes, around 2 metres tall at the shoulder. It's pretty large, I am sure the Gaur has an edge here due to its weaponry, as well as it is not getting outflanked so they're face-to-face, thus meaning it will probably be able to use its horns effectively.

The Ceratosaurus has a small advantage, by speed and agility. However its more like 55% - 45%, with Ceratosaurus being at 55%.

I favour the ceratousaurus, Tigers have been known to take down gaurs(ambush of course). Also with the gaurs ridiculous bulk I doubt it would be very manoeuvrable so I think the ceratosaurus could out flank it. I favour the ceratosaurus 60% of the time.

I don't know why but the Gaur is a pretty cool animal imo.

I favour the Gaur, it is not really getting outflanked so easily due to its compact body and its smaller rotational inertia. Plus at max sizes it can be up to 2+ metres tall at the shoulder. And Tigers rarely kill large Gaurs, they mostly kill young ones or sickened ones, and on ambush. Also I am not sure how Ceratosaurus would deal with a Gaur head on and how effective it is compared to a Tiger.

Liam speed is not an advantage (You could quote me you know) What I should've said is agility.

Hmmm this is a hard choice...we'll guars can total cars no joke look up car smashed by guar...a guar is pretty dense though and bulky and ceratosaurus is also a very bulky compact carnivore...actually I'm gonna go 50/50 on his one I'm not sure at all...

Ceratosaurus. Look at a gaur's horns: they go backward in a certain direction and point upward. Thus, the gaur can't exactly use its horns like one with forward pointing horns. It needs to lower its head down and attempt to gore its foe while rather blind of attempting to hit. While still dangerous, it wouldn't surprise me if the Ceratosaurus would grab ahold of the purely soft tissue part of the gaur's face towards the front (encompassing the nose, lips, etc.). That WILL be devastating. So the theropod's jaws and teeth will get to its foe before the bovid's horns do, and will just cause more damage than the gaur's horns IMO. Ceratosaurus ~55% of the time IMO.

They have, like many other animals, ball-and-socket head to cervical vertebra connections, so they can move their heads downwards and try to gore, while still not completely blind. And at parity here, the Gaur would be just IMPRESSIVE: Although I do favour the theropod, I really doubt that it would either outflank it or just kill it with ease.

Certainly not with ease.
But do gaur really have a ball-and-socket-joint? I thought it was exclusive to ceratopsids like Triceratops.

I heard most animals actually do, I wouldn't be surprised to see a Gaur having them as well. After all, that adaptation seems great for horned bovids.
