Diplodocus is only about 15% larger than Sue. With a 13 metre Giganotosaurus being Dimensionally larger than T. rex so it can get at the neck ever easier. The sauropod has inferior weaponry to kill the theropod and for the exact reasons I favour T. rex over diplodocus and I am saying the exact same shit all over again.

giganotosaurus would just need to bite the neck of the sauropod. diplodocus may have that extremely long tail that could be used like a bull whip, but that's not enough to win, as its long neck is quite vulnerable to attack. giganotosaurus should win this.

Diplodocus carnegii would actually stand a chance if it were to be attacked from behind, in that the diplodocid would have had the chance to use the more robustly built base of its tail, seeing as the whip might have been used mainly for purposes other than combating with predators, since it would be extremely ineffective and unwise to use a whip, which is more well-built for causing pain, when a more robustly built part of the tail can be used to knock an attacking predator to the ground. I think using the face-to-face concept in those matches is extremely one-sided, since you are getting rid of an animal's ease with employing its unique effective defense, while exposing its main weakness to an animal that evolved to kill sauropods. An ambush scenario for this kind of match would be a lot more fair.

According to the documentary, Dinotasia, one Allosaurus europaes devises a plan to bite of an apatosaurid's tail for food. While it's swinging. (check youtube)
Gigantosaurus wouldn't take a blow too hard, and it could easily topple a Diplodocus over with its sheer mass, and pick it off from there.
