Giganotosaurus Carolinii vs Tyrannosaurus Rex

 

Tyrannosaurus Rex is the biggest exponent of the family Tyrannosauridae, with a average size between 12 and 13 meters long and height around 4 meters, with a weight of 6 to 8 tons. Most of the specimens we´re under 13 meters long, but there´s 3 specimens of 13.8, 13.6, and 14.8 meters long, known as MOR oo8, UCMP 118742 and MOR 1126 (C-Rex). It lived 66 millions years ago, it hunted hadrosaurids and ceratopsians. The speed of the Tyrannosaurus was around 30 to 40 km/h.



 Giganotosaurus Carolinii is one of the biggest carnosaurids that ever existed, with estimations of size between 12 and 15 meters long, when it was discovered, the size of this dinosaur was in 15 meters long with a skull of 1.8 meters, but today that size is wrong, the average size of the species was between 12 and 14 meters long, there it is 2 specimens discovered, the MUCPv-Ch-1 and MUCPv-Ch-95 the holotype specimen (MUCPv-Ch-1) has a size around 12.5 meters long, with a weight of near 7 tons, it has the 70% of the skeleton founded. The MUCPv-Ch-95 is probably a proof of how big this species can grow, with a estimated size of 13.4 meteres long, and a height of near 5 meters, with a weight of 7 tons, the only founded resource of this specimen it´s a half jaw, it´s been calculated the max size of the skull of MUCPv-Ch-95 was 1.56 meters long, being one of the biggest dinosaur skulls founded. The weight of this dinosaur species was calculated between 6 and 8 tons, same as the Tyrannosaurus Rex. The studios revealed the Giganotosaurus can run to a speed of 14 meters per second (Around 50 km/h or 32 mph). Also there´s proof of this species and one relative called Mapusaurus Roseae that reveals this 2 species hunted in packs, the 2 species hunted Titanosaur´s like Andesaurus or Argentinosaurus. This dinosaur lived 93 million years ago.
