I wonder how many of you will hate me for this
But I personally think by this point, it's too late to save the earth.
There are many MANY posters and facts I see that are so negative. I remember reading that if everyone in the entire world lived the average canadian and american life, we'd need I think it was 4 earths to supply everyone with food and water
Plus these idiot large cooperation companies keep cutting down forests and crap. Which is the number one thing that can help us right now... considering those trees give out oxygen
Well. yeah... I think it's too late. I assume I'll be dead by the time the effects role in so I'm (and my generation) is hopefully fine

We can actually save the enviroment but we it probably won't happen because of capitalism and private corporations.

I've noticed this message crops up far more than any stories about people making major efforts to try and save the environment. Perhaps we should all stop preaching about how the future is likely to be all doom and gloom and do something about it on a mass scale. Simple things like everyone being persuaded to try and reduce their daily carbon footprint could make a difference. I suppose I'm guilty of preaching there lol

We can fix this completely by transitioning from fossil fuels to Nuclear/Solar energy. Building gigantic solar farms in the deserts would fix everything. But nah, capitalism.

Finding a way to create nuclear fusion here on earth would also be a solution, but I doubt that would be very practical as a sustainable source

We can fix this completely by transitioning from fossil fuels to Nuclear/Solar energy. Building gigantic solar farms in the deserts would fix everything. But nah, capitalism. The public is too scared of nuclear power. They'd rather keep reliable ways, that are killing the earth. Honestly, we could just rename nuclear power something else and people would like it.
But yeah, the earth is screwed. We have stuffed it so much, and society is going to keep using fossil fuels until we run out; even with better alternatives. It's all about the cash, no one in those companies cares about the future that they won't be alive to see. It's disgraceful, really, in my opinion.
However, I am of the strong opinion that even though we screwed earth, now the newest generation has the technology to leave earth and not make the same mistakes again. I like this quote in particular; "Humans were born on earth. Who says we were meant to die here?"
