If you could 'play God' and reverse the extinctions of animals that once roamed the earth, which animals would you select and why?

I would ressurect every single species that has become extinct as a result of us humans. I would like to see those species get their chance to evolve, before we just wiped them out. But if that doesn't count as really prehistoric, I would go with Megalodon. He is so awesome, and could probably adapt to today if he were to live near the equator.

I would agree but I wouldn't resurrect animals we have out competed but animals that were wiped out by over hunting or their habitats were destroyed by humans like the Thylacine or the several species of elephant or tiger we have wiped out. Stuff like that.

I agree with es1001, Dodo, for example, is an animals extinct not too long ago, it could easily re-adapat to it's natural habitat. The Mammuts are a problem, but the Russian Tundra may be the perfect place to re-introduce then to the nature. I fwe could bring back dinosaurs, I would like to bring Protoceratops, they may be like cattle, they would give us dinosaur eggs, or maybe Styracosaurus, that could be mounted, that would be awesome.

I'd probably bring back Thylacine instead. The last one died in the 1930s so it is possible to bring the species back.
