Nanotyrannus does not exist thus Herrerasaurus wins by default I really hate when people use this excuse, If I said, let say for example a regular guy vs superman, does that mean that regular guy would win because superman doesn't exist? In this battle, a fictional dinosaur is fictionally put up agaisnt a real dinosaur (actually herrerasaurus might not have even been a dinosaur) so basically, Nanotyrannus does not exist but in this battle it does exist. It might not have been so obvious but I wasn't really even being serious. For real though, if we were to use those juvenile T.rex individuals that had been referred to as 'Nanotyrannus' in the past, it will win due to being bigger.

I can for sure see Sue winning this, all it has to do is chomp down on the neck. Perhaps Diplodocus won't just stand there, but I see the neck bite happening before the Diplo gets a chance to employ its tail.
Although I think that whip-tail would destroy a human in one blow. But I clearly don't see it killing T.rex in one blow.

Diplodocus carnegii is only like 11 tonnes. That really isn't much larger as T.rex could be up to 8 tonnes. Yeah but that's literally the most conservative D. carnegiei estimate I've seen versus the most liberal T. rex one. I remain unconvinced that Tyrannosaurus could win this most of the time. Really it isn't worth arguing about, because they never lived together and there are no examples of sauropods anywhere near Tyrannosaurus besides Alamosaurus which is definitely waaaaay too big for it to take on a healthy adult. It isn't worth arguing about because they never lived together? This applies to like 95% of the fights posted here. As Diplodocus is far smaller than Alamosaurus..

T.rex wins.
Whilst Diplodocus may have had thorn-like spikes around its bullwhip tail (like Fred said on the page of that above artwork on deviantart), it might not be such a soft target, but I still think it isn't too much for a T.rex to handle.
