(Not really to scale) They are similar in build. The Baryonyx specimen (left) is a juvenile, while the Suchomimus specimen (right) is a sub-adult. Juveniles and sub-adults have different morphs. Adult specimens of these two dinosaurs would be almost identical. Considering that the upper range for adult Baryonyx is around 11+ metres in length and the sub-adult specimen of Suchomimus is around 11 metres in length, it seems possible that Suchomimus was a larger species of Baryonyx. If this is true, then: Baryonyx walkeri- 10-11 metres in length and around 3.5-4.5 tons in weight Suchomimus/Baryonyx tenerensis- 11-12 metres in length and around 4-5.5 tons in weight.

This would be a very convincing theory if only one thing wasn't stopping it, the temporal range. Baryonyx living 4-12 million years apart from suchomimus.
