i would actually consider epanterias to be its own species. its remains are found at the top layers of the morrison formation, as it is found in layers that are 4 million years younger than any allosaurus. I would say this is the only convicing evidence for epanterias being its own specie. Am I the only one that's heard of the idea that Epanterias is just a specimen of Saurophaganax? It's actually been talked about quite a bit on the DML. They're both found in the same geological layer in the youngest part of the Morrison, they're both in the same size range, and they're both described as just being over-grown Allosaurus. It's pretty convincing when you think about it. I've never met this Atom King person and I don't know what he's like, but he's correct about the juvenile Allosaurus thing. According to histology studies by Jack Horner (which he announced at SVP) even some of the largest specimens of Allosaurus in museums show evidence of being immature. The time they reach skeletal maturity is unknown, but they are definitely capable of breeding well before it is reached. (One specimen of a female was breeding at 10 years old, when she was about 20ft long and under a ton!) This sadly means many Allosaurus don't survive to old age and get to really large sizes (as is true for most non-avian dinosaurs). They instead lived fast, had teenage pregnancies, flooded the ecosystem with offspring, and died young.

I have thought of Epanterias being a saurophaganax, I have no idea why no-one brung it up I just assumed it wasn't true because no-one thought of it.

I believe that Suchomimus is a larger species of Baryonyx, called Baryonyx tenerensis. This is a bit awkward.

I believe that Suchomimus is a larger species of Baryonyx, called Baryonyx tenerensis. This is a bit awkward. How is it awkward? It sounds completely normal for me. The B. tenerensis thing does in fact sound awkward but the hypothesis he came up with was actually plausible with what is known.

(Not really to scale) They are similar in build. The Baryonyx specimen (left) is a juvenile, while the Suchomimus specimen (right) is a sub-adult. Juveniles and sub-adults have different morphs. Adult specimens of these two dinosaurs would be almost identical. Considering that the upper range for adult Baryonyx is around 11+ metres in length and the sub-adult specimen of Suchomimus is around 11 metres in length, it seems possible that Suchomimus was a larger species of Baryonyx. If this is true, then: Baryonyx walkeri- 10-11 metres in length and around 3.5-4.5 tons in weight Suchomimus/Baryonyx tenerensis- 11-12 metres in length and around 4-5.5 tons in weight.
