Death Valley Thread. You arrive here: Credits to Lmpkio for the picture! Also we'd have a few cactuses and plants there too instead of just plain desert, just wanted to add that.)

Rick has been dropped off at Death Valley. He had brought all the equipment with him and is walking along the desert. The temperature was about 90 degrees Farheniet. Luckily he had a hat, so he was ok. He walks towards the mountains, hoping to find a cave. He keeps his mouth shut, so the dehydration will go at a slower rate. He finds a cave, and hunkers down for the day. He has 1 week of food and a 10 day supply of water, but that was it as for resources. He finds a nearby cactus and rips it open, yet poking himself once. However, there was water in their and he drinks it up. He returns to his cave and waits for nightfall.

Bear Grylls is dropped at the Death Valley. He has no food or water. 1 hour later, he is worried about dehydration. Being dehydrated, he cannot eat because digestion will suck up too much liquid, making things even worse. He needs a water source. Cactuses are said to help you, but some can cause diarrhea. Luckily, Bear knows which cactuses can actually help. He finds one and cuts it with his knife, chewing its inside so he can drink the liquid and spit the cactus inside thing out. However, he would have to do a lot of that during day... Just so he can survive for a day. But it will still help him. He sees a scorpion walking by, and he knows he can eat it.Bear uses his knife to cut the sting off, and kills the scorpion. The scorpion is now safe to be eaten and Bear eats the little animal. Not any close to a banquet, but it will in fact help. The temperature is really high, and Bear can suffer of hyporthermia if he keeps under it for too long. He's well aware of that. Bear doesn't walk too much during day because the warmer temperature can get him tired more quickly. Bear finds a canyon which he decides to explore and rest there, since there is some shading. He finds a little bit of water there, but it can have bacteria. He collects it with his empty bottle and waits for the nightfall.
It's now night and Bear has a good shelter in the canyon he found in Death Valley. He gets some wood he found nearby, not much but still enough to light a fire. He uses his flint & steel to light a fire. His water bottle is now full. He uses some of the wood he found to keep it over the fire, nearly on the fire itself. Since it's 100% full of water, the plastic water bottle will remain intact. Bear keeps the water bottle there for over 30 minutes, knowing that even 10 minutes would work. After that, he keeps the water bottle away from the fire to lose the temperature. After that, he can drink it. With enough water for a few hours of survival, Bear can sleep. Nightime is really cold in Death Valley, but his backpack had a few clothes to help him out. Bear knows he'll have to get more water when it's morning, place it over fire again, and carry it with him on his travel. If you want to survive, keep moving, even if you have found a place that looks proper... You must keep moving.
