There is no denying that racism is an issue, I think anyone here can agree with that. But how serious do you perceive it to be? Many people seem to think it isn't a big issue, that it is limited to the superficial view we have of it, many seem to think it is just about people being insulted based on their skin colour, but probably most of us here know that it isn't that simple. Would like to see your opinions on the subject. I'll post mine later.

Like sexism, it depends on where you look in the world. I mean I think it of course exists everywhere, but some places more than others. And I guess also is the question is whether racism is just a few assholes or a cultural thing.
I don't look into this stuff or anything so I'm just basing it off of my personal experience, so in a sense I may not have the slightest of ideas of what I'm talking about.
Right now there is a lot of racism against middle-easterners/arabs/Muslims (Islam is of course not a race, but you know what I mean), perhaps do to the violence that comes from certain radicals in those areas, ISIS and so forth. And it is real, not just a few assholes. I hear people all the time in school or in public basically hating on people from that area of the world. Just generalizations of that race based on the people in ISIS and such. Definitely an issue. I mean, ISIS is a bigger issue, but that's like insulting all whites because of the KKK or something (though the KKK is a much smaller less dangerous group than ISIS).
Against Asians, I almost never see any racism. It exists, for sure, but I see it used MOSTLY for comedic effect, and that is different from actual racism, I think. Perhaps because of the Trump thing, Hispanics I think are sometimes discriminated quite a lot in America, but again, some of it is comedy and not actual racism. I think that they are probably the most discriminated race in America besides middle-easterners/arabs/Muslims. Africans/blacks are iffy. I can't pinpoint exactly how discriminated they are, but they get way more 'anti-racist' attention than any other race I think. Groups like Black Lives Matter are doing more harm than good in my opinion, and of course the riots every time a black person dies, but I can't deny that some are discriminated against a lot. It seems like every few weeks a new story about a cop beating or killing a black person comes out. These are hard to decide on what is what, some are clearly racism, while some are just some abusive cop who just happened to abuse a black person this time. What I also see a lot is just people treating them like they are different. Not saying that the different race is inferior, just that they are different somehow. And I guess that isn't technically "racism" by definition, but it is a harmful thought to have.
Whites like myself, I'm sure are discriminated somewhere somehow. "Social Justice Warriors" (maybe a better term is "radical feminists/anti-racists") are causing some problems. While, of course, I am an anti-racist (as the vast majority of people are, whether they really follow up on that or not) and a feminist (I'm not sure what percentage of people identify as a feminist), if one thing pisses me off it is the radicals. The people that burn down buildings and stuff because a person of their race was killed. This is just accomplishing nothing proving any racists' point. I feel like they may be creating an "Us vs Them" mentality when talking about... well sexism and racism, which might have the opposite effect of what they want to accomplish, and I dare say that some radical SJWs may be in a way racist. I'm not sure if people will quite understand me when I say this, but certain groups like the aforementioned Black Lives Matter, are just arrogant young adults that want to seem oppressed to make the world revolve around them. This makes it so that these extreme anti-racists (is there a better word for this?) are having the opposite effect of what they claim they want to accomplish: stop racism. Things like this made me hesitant to identify as a feminist, for example, before. Because the extremists made it seem like some hate group and then that just created a big weird pile of crap. Many radical feminists and "anti-racists" were just that: radical, using arguments that made no sense and say things to such extremes like "all white people are racist and all men are sexist."
Anyway, a lot of racism seems to be stereotyping, which I see mostly used for comedy, like George Carlin's style comedy. I must be honest here; some of my favorite types of comedy is racist, sexist, etc. You just have to learn to have thick skin and remember it is just comedy. I, for one, love it when comedians make fun of fat people in America, despite the fact that I myself am overweight and do some of the things these comedians make fun of, and many people I know do too. I just get a kick out of it. What I hate is when some random foreigner starts insulting Americans on Youtube or something for being fat, simply because they can. I think it shows that we should be upset at the right stuff. Take notice when something is actual racism or sexism, and when it is just having some fun. I make jokes that can be considered racist all the time, in fact alongside my friend from Cambodia and my two friends from Mexico. They make jokes about white people or Americans. At the end we just laugh and have fun with it. We know we don't actually mean those things and it is just some wee banter.
This may have gone a bit off topic, but I think it fits the general scheme of things.

Yeah, the stereotypes aren't the worst thing about racism. In the end, it's most of the time in good fun. Can't and shouldn't be stopped unless actually done to harm others, I think people just need to be properly educated on how to understand such jokes first before being exposed to that kind of thing. People seem to understand that anti-racism riots are all done because a black person was insulted, I've actually heard that. I know people personally who believe racism is not a real thing and that blacks are just trying to get more rights than whites. What the fuck? Racism is actually causing harm to someone based on their ethnicity, and let's be real here, blacks are the most affected. It's not about calling them names, it's about those people who don't hire blacks because they're black, people who don't give blacks as many opportunities. And this creates a cycle, because many people actually BELIEVE that blacks are "more likely to steal"... People actually believe that shit and that's what makes society give blacks less opportunities.
Now, let's suppose society suddenly changed... And whites started getting the opportunities blacks get, blacks started getting the opportunities whites get. You'd see more unemployed whites. What happens when someone cannot get a job at all? That person becomes poor, that person might become homeless. What's a poor person going to do? Wait for a miracle? That person might as well steal, perhaps steal from a rich person who doesn't need that item as much as the poor do. If they don't steal, it's possible they might not have anything to eat. If they steal and go to jail, at least there they will get something to eat, a place to stay. Get what I'm saying? Racism generates crime, and racism exists partly because many people think certain people are criminals because of their skin colour. How ironic. The government is also to be blamed - come in and solve all those social issues instead of trying to blame drugs for shit that happens, you lazy bastards.
In the words of Tupac, "Instead of a war on poverty, they got a war on drugs so the police can bother me".

It's pretty weird about why people would discriminate Muslims for a terrorist group that isn't even their religion. I mean, ISIS isn't muslim, they're Sunni extremists, which is actually a different thing than Islam.

See? This is what I'm talking about. Five random police officers were sniped by a black activist. I understand that racism is a problem and his motivations may have been legit, but his actions are inexcusable. Some people are taking these riots way too far. Innocent people were shot because of what people barely affiliated with them did something racist. Ridiculous.
On the other hand, you also have the Baton Rouge shooting which I think is blatant racism. The guy was literally just held down and shot, and not a single person is sure why. I think there is a difference between an abusive cop that picked on a black person this time and an abusive cop who is racist. This time I think we actually have the latter. An innocent man was shot for basically no reason whatsoever. Ridiculous.
So we've got opposite sides of the spectrum here. Racism as a whole, and anti-racism going too far. Two extremely big issues that we need to fight against.
Ugh humanity is so messed up.

I don't have much time now (I believe so) to explain why those riots are trying to feed an elephant flesh, but putting it simply they are putting violence in riots that are, simply put, too small to have a positive effect by using violence. If you're to use violence, you must make sure the deaths you caused are going to prevent way more deaths. Not sure about how it helps in this case.

^The ignorance in this post made me vomit. First thing I see when I come back from vacation, delightful. Anyway, care to explain why? Did I hurt your little feelings there? I know you are probably one of the most extremist left people I know, and love to make it seem that everyone but yourself is oppressed. So I'd love a retort. Make it brutal, please. Because your entire preception of racism is so simplified and stupid that it is borderline disrespectful. No one cares about racism in comedy, none of that is relevant whatsoever. The real problem is that in the US, hundreds of innocent black people are killed in the fucking streets by police each year and get away with it. In the UK Blacks and Arabs are 20 times more likely to be stopped and searched by police. In the UK eastern europeans and in the US hispanics are being attacked and shouted on a daily basis at for them to go back to their country due to the legitimization of bigotry by the media. In Burma Rohingya Muslims are being displaced and forced in Ghettos and their homes are being burnt to the ground. In Israel, Palestinians are being caged in walled off enclosures that are reguarly bombed, raided and droned which has killed thousands upon thousands of innocent people. Are you really that fucking clueless? Racism is systematic. It is built into the system by the existing social structures (capitalism, the media, the state, organised religion) and it effects people everyday in ways you cannot even imagine. This goes for other types of discrimination as well like misogyny, classism, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, religious discrimination etc. So the fact you have the audacity to say shit like: The fact that you see resistance towards racism as bad as racism itself is absolutely appalling. It is clear you have made no effort to look into what racism actually is and how it effects society today and are just regurgitating reactionary nonsene from illiterate shitheads like TJ, Thunderf00t and Sargon of Akkad. I'd suggest that you look into racial politicals as far away from youtube as possible and try looking at the bigger picture. It will help broaden your view on the world.

I'd suggest that you look into racial politicals as far away from youtube as possible and try looking at the bigger picture. It will help broaden your view on the world. Yep, you sound pretty butthurt. And it seems you get really mad when someone even suggests that bad people can be anti-racists, feminists, etc. First, when did I ever say that extremist anti-racists were as bad as the racists themselves? When? That sounds like some weird straw man. I would say it is worse than you think, but not even close to the racists themselves. The vast majority of people agree that those black people and arabs that get killed for no reason whatsoever is absolutely unacceptable and shouldn't be happening, but many people will flat out deny that extremists even exist (like you for example), which is why I think its worse than some people think. But I'll reiterate; the problem isn't as bad as racism, and I don't believe I've ever said that. We have some places like Baton Rouge, where Anton Sterling was shot, and we got peaceful protests (EDIT: Well up until three innocent police officers were shot recently). I applaud that. Absolutely incredible. But then we have people burning down buildings and sniping innocent police officers, and you don't even bat an eye. Seriously, this is an issue, whether you like it or not. We literally, no exaggeration, have people walking around saying all white people are racist by DEFAULT. Even white people themselves. Innocent people are dying on both sides, but you somehow manage to see only one side of the problem. Another thing that you are missing is that we aren't, or at least I'm not, talking about Israel or Burma. You would have to be a complete idiot to think that it isn't absolute hell in developing parts of the world. The people are absolutely oppressed and horribly discriminated. But I'm not talking about that. I think we can all agree that it is so far out of hand that it could seem near impossible to fix it anytime soon, its so messed up over there. But I'm talking about the developed nations, the supposed free world, America, Canada, Britain, Australia, etc. As for your spiel on racism, misogyny, ableism, transphobia, homophobia etc. being built into society? I can see some of that? Homophobia and transphobia almost certainly are, and racism against certain races is. I don't think society hates Asians, for instance. Hispanics, arabs, and blacks, to some extent, with some parts of society, I could see that, very easily in fact. Misogyny? I have a hard time seeing that. Even if you look at the Bible (used as example since I know the most about it) or other religious texts, they are definitely beyond misogynistic, and also pretty racist, its disgusting, but I can't think of any large part of society that actually still follows that. If anything it is a reason people use to NOT follow the Bible. The media? Most people in the media I see almost seem to side with you on some things. The only place I can see that would actively disagree with anything you are saying is like... Fox news or something. You see that is another recurring theme, some things you say is just randomly puffed from your ass without any justification. "Oh yeah misogyny is definitely a societal norm that is ingrained in everyone's heads," and then just give no justification for that. Or just randomly attacking TJ, Thunderf00t, and Sargon with absolutely no justification, which you have done several times now. Ad hominem. You just hear them and go "oh look at those neckbeards" and just ignore them. Wait did you call them illiterate? What? Thunderf00t is a PhD scientist, what on Earth are you talking about? I have a feeling that at least one or two of them has better grammar than you, considering you just randomly plop whatever profanities you can into any place in your sentence. Don't get me wrong, I've always hated the idea of profane language being somehow, well... profane, but none of this is neither here nor there. I think honestly you are just regurgitating whatever your nice, cuddly "SJWs," as they are called, have been telling you. Regardless, something, maybe this is just an idea, something tells me you *might* not have even seen their videos. If you have you ignored them. I can't say I really respect TJ, but he can have some valid points, and there are some times when I think Thunderf00t and Sargon are complete douchebags, but again, many times they will have valid points. Even people I disagree with (meaning anything and everything on the right and certain parts of the left like YOURSELF), I'll still look into their ideas. I'll look at it and think about their points, because I'm not so close minded. I'll change my mind if something is presented to me that I think is valid (as I did with feminism in our previous argument). Can we just talk about something we agree on? Like Westboro Baptist Church is the worst thing ever, kittens are adorable, Trump is a buffoon, and humanity is stupid and selfish? Why can't we be friends?

Hainosaurus is now congeneric with Tylosaurus. I guess that means that it's Tylosaurus bernardi now.
