For the record, this post caused me to burst out laughing.
No it didn't.
Most of those have to do with religion, which very rarely gets touched by feminists anymore, I think most of those probably are a result of feminism in the past that is finally catching up. Though by modern feminism, I guess what I mean is
radical feminism in modern times, but whatever mate, this whole argument is utterly pointless anyway.
First of all, I never claimed it was.
Second of all, I know, every person who disagrees with you is a neckbearded dirtbag. That's a pretty close-minded interpretation of people. Anyway, my intention was to pick people that most feminists hate that are actually doing things for society instead of the Tumblr feminists. Perhaps I should have worded it differently, but whatever.
Oh and yeah, Donald Trump pretty much represents white Americans. You're talking to a guy who LIVES in America. It's pretty terrifying, but yes, that seems to be the mentality of a huge percentage of people that live here. Ben Carson from my understanding is basically the opposite of most African Americans in some aspects, so... good example I guess... I realize that may perceived as racist, but I swear that's not my intention.
Go to Tumblr and cringe. Am I supposed to give examples of this? I thought it was common knowledge? Do you remember the '#KillAllMen' thing? That should give you a good idea of what you are dealing with.
Time to dive into your list.
1. Cool, assholes are assholes. Some idiots on the street like to harass people so therefore women are oppressed. Not the soundest of logic, but whatever. I suppose the difference is in the instincts of men and women. Men are instinctively more sexual than women, and some idiots in the world can't control it, thus leading to more harassment from men. It's a problem, and one you repeat a lot at that. A point for you.
2. And it's not that way for men?
3. No they don't. Not most of the time. I have explained this to you several times.
4. Uh... what exactly did that have to do with women? Gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgenders are harassed... so women are oppressed... did I read that wrong? I must have.
5. See number two, plus maybe this might be because men are on average stronger than women, thus leading to some mentally deranged out-of-control assholes walking around that rape people. Good point I guess.
6. Slut-shaming isn't always bad, I mean don't wear such provocative clothing. Sure, that's a problem that people rape because some girl has super short shorts, but I would say it is the fault of both parties. If the girl just likes wearing provocative clothing, whatever, that's fine, and the rapists should be harshly punished, but "sluts" on the other hand are disgusting in my opinion. The rapist should still be punished, but it is still a bit her fault. A rapist is a rapist is a rapist, but don't go around with those clothes like that if you are a "slut." Maybe you also mean that women are shamed when they have had lots of sex while men are congratulated? Well that may be true in some situations, I've never done that myself, will never, that's not right, but I see your point. However, there are lots of times when rape cases are completely non-existent and are made up for the attention. If someone is to be convicted of rape, there must be evidence, so many are dismissed because it is just one person claiming they were raped when there is no evidence presented. One point for you.
7. Sure, an existent point in many places, I know women are in the military, quite a lot in America too, but sure you're correct. But consider this compadre, only men can be forced/drafted in to the military when there aren't enough soldiers. Is this a disadvantage of men or women? You tell me.
8. Men are EXTREMELY objectified. I don't know how they compare to women, as far as who is more objectified, but it isn't just women. Most male protagonists are muscular and athletic. I'm uncomfortable swimming without a shirt on, because I'm overweight and I don't feel adequate in that sense. I don't think this is a gender thing, it's just a problem as a whole.
9. Well I can see the point of other people, claiming it takes away the BABY's rights. I disagree with this of course, I'm pro-choice.
10. Well they are prostitutes, they deserve to be DEMONIZED in my opinion. They don't deserve rape, but they kinda sorta asking for it. Don't get me wrong, the rapist should be punished of course, but a prostitute is a prostitute is a prostitute, of course the chances of rape are gonna be higher. But I'll give you this point, because you are right, it's a problem.
Well argued, dear friend, but you ultimately did all that for nothing. I'm not denying that women aren't equal in some aspects, at least not anymore, as of like two days ago, but so are men, and thus they are sort of equal in the fact that they are unequal.
Maybe me referring to radical feminism as modern feminism is a bad thing, but I'll still never identify as a feminist, because women aren't the only oppressed.
Yuck another example of my poor word-choice. I mostly meant with feminism in particular, but eh, whatever. Good on you sir.
And ditto, if it was not for the fact that I'm 13 I'd donate money and stuff more often probably.
Also you seem to be not so angry as earlier in the post, which is relieving, because I was honestly scared that I had angered you. I was slightly frustrated with you, and you clearly are with me, but I really hope there is no hard feelings in this, because to be honest your shifting my opinion, quite a lot, I'll admit that at least. I'll still never be an anarchist, and I probably won't identify as a feminist anytime soon, but you are right, I will admit to that.
Exactly, it is the same thing with a different name. Different people prefer to be called different things. Feminism implies female, thus, I don't want to identify as a feminist.
Good, finally, you finally say something about that.
Tumblr feminists (that's what I'm going to call the radicals because it's hilarious mate) don't do much but hate men all day, either.
But I'll just agree with you and call it a day.
Because this thread is cancer, just like every other thread about religion, politics, social justice, whatever.
Well I apologize for any offense taken, headaches, or something else, but I think I'm done posting in these threads.
