Walking With Dinosaurs has probably had more of an impact on me than any other piece of entertainment ever. Even more than Jurassic park and thats saying something. So Walking with dinosaurs completely blows everything out of the water. Dinosaur revolution and Planet dinosaur are probably the best when it comes to accuracy but Walking With Dinosaurs is better overall with its depictions of Dinosaurs as animals not monsters.

Yea, WWD is truly an amazing documentary and is very artistically/beautifully done when compared to others of the same genre, even though it wasn't particularly accurate in some aspects. I watched it WAY after it came out (about 2-3 years ago) but it stuck with me a lot, but still not quite as much as Planet Dinosaur which was the first ever dinosaur documentary series I got into when I first had a major interest in dinosaurs, my main source of nostlagia comes from that.

It could be considered fairly accurate back then in '99, so I don't blame them for it.

I don't only think of it as a dinosaur documentary but technical marvel and achivement in entertainment as a whole. Being one of the most popular documentaries of all time it blended in state of the art CGI with real life perfectly. Never have I seen dinosaurs act so realistically while at the same time keeping drama and superb story telling at the forefront.

One that deserves more recognition is When Dinosaurs Roamed America (or When Dinosaurs Roamed for other countries).
It was actually quite good, in fact I am tempted to say I may even like it more than Walking With Dinosaurs.

Its pretty much like the American version of walking with dinosaurs. Its a lot more accurate than WWD with better models, facts and less speculation than WWD(though that could be argued as being less adventurous but much less engaging and doesn't have the same charm and power as WWD. I would say due to the CGI being no where near as good as WWD and them not being pretty poorly mixed into the backgrounds in comparison with WWD and other such documentaries. Also even though John Goodman is awesome and all but doesn't have the same nature documentary, David Attenborough-esk narriation that Kenneth Branagh so famously gives. Also the music for the walking with series in total is probably the best nature documentary sound track. Though when Dinosaurs Roamed America is definetly worth watching. Due to its more realistic and accurate portrayal of dinosaurs. It was also the FIRST documentary to have feathered Raptors and even a feathered Therizinosaur. It also has more daring locations. It does have the typical Late Jurassic and Late Cretaceous we all know and love but it has an episode in the Triassic with very unique dinosaurs not normally put in documentaries. Later followed by the Early Jurassic with my favourite portrayal of Dilophosaurus in documentary and one in the mid cretaceous which is really rare as it takes place in the massive gap of information we have between Late Jurassic/Early Cretaceous and Late Cretaceous.
Overall both amazing.

I still love WWD as my favourite though, especially after WWB and WWM.
